Three Months Already
Sorry that it has taken so long to update. I know I promised this last week, but Larry and I were both sick the latter part of the week, making blogging hard.
I cannot believe that T is already three months old. I have difficulty remember what our lives were like before she came along. I am sure that we were bored out of our minds without her.
Here is a little update:

Here is a little update:
- She loves to babble. She is constantly telling us about her day! I'm sure that she will be speaking in sentences soon.
- She has the cutest smile and loves to show it off! One of her nicknames is Smiley McSmiles. She grins especially big when her mommy talks to her.
- She loves to take a bath, but is not fond of getting dressed
- She is up to about 6 ounces at every feeding.
- She is almost sleeping through the night. We usually get up once and then she is quickly back to sleep.
- She has discovered her hands and loves to shove them in her mouth. She also loves to "talk" to her hands.
- She has officially grown out of all of her newborn clothes.
- She loves to sleep on her daddy.
- She loves to ride in the sling and face outward to see the world.

A first time for everything
I'm sorry that I've been absent from the blogging world lately. There has been so much going on lately that I haven't had the time or the energy to write anything. I've gained a newfound respect for working mothers, particularly since becoming one. I'm so tired by the time I get home I'm useless! And I want to spend as much time with Teegen as I possibly can.
This week marked a week of several "firsts" for Teegen. Monday was her first day of child care and subsequently the first day that the three of us had to all get out of the house by a certain time. I handled leaving her at child care, relatively well. It is helpful that the center is on the campus of the hospital where I start every day. The great location gives both of us a chance to stop and spend some time with her during the day. I was able to rock her after her midday bottle four days this week, with Larry checking on her on Friday.
So far, so good with child care. However, she experienced another first after two days of "school." Her very first runny nose, which she is tolerating much better than I am. In fact, I'm pretty sure that she passed her illness on to me.
In other big news, she rolled from her back to her belly on Sunday night. I'm pretty sure it was a fluke, but we were encouraging her to do it again.

Worn out from all the activity of the week.
Teegen hits the three month mark later this week. I continue to be amazed that this beautiful and wonderful soul is ours. Each day is such a blessing.
Hopefully I will get around to posting a three month update later this week. There might also be some exciting news around the corner. I hope to get confirmation on this later in the week.

Two Months Old
Saturday, Teegen turned two months old! I cannot believe how time has gone by so fast. And she is developing quite the personality. Today, Larry and I took her for her two month doctor's visit, which included a vaccine or tow. I'm thankful that we have such a great doctor who listed to my concerns regarding vaccinations and is working with us to develop our own schedule of vaccines. Teegen handled the injection better than I thought. She hardly cried at all. Mom on the other hand, felt a bit faint and almost threw up!
Here's a little update on the girl:

* I just want to go on record and say that I love my Hotsling and the idea of carrying my daughter in it. I fell in love with them long before we even started to discuss adoption. And as soon as we found out that we were going to be parents, I immediately ordered one in the "Tattoo" pattern, which features skulls, hearts, etc....a very edgy look, which I loved. A few days ago, Larry, being the great husband that he is, washed the sling...and dried it...shrinking it beyond belief. So, I went to order another one, but alas...no Tattoo pattern. So, what's a girl to do?.....I ordered two more in different patterns. Teegen has such a large wardrobe, I figured we needed some choices. If you are curious about slings, I would definately check out Hotslings!
Here's a little update on the girl:
- She now weighs a whopping 11lbs 9 ozs. That's three pounds from last visit!
- She measures in at 23.5 inches long.
- She is sporadically sleeping through the night. I attribute this to the swaddling.
- She is very vocal and loves to "talk"
- She is able to hold her head up, for the most part. She still has some wobbly moments.
- She has started to smile when someone smiles at her.
- She loves to be carried in the Hotsling*.
- She loves to have someone sing to her.
- She has finally outgrown her newborn sleepers
- She is the spit-up queen
I love this blanket!

The Perfect Nursery
I've been meaning to post some pictures of T's room, since even before we knew about T. I love her nursery and think that it turned out even better than I had hoped. I started working on this last summer and finished it about three weeks before T entered the family (I took more than one painting hiatus). I must admit that I cannot decide on a favorite animal.
